Centrals membership area is large and spans the northern and eastern areas of Adelaide plains and the hills. CDCC is a road and track racing club and is suited to both competitive and recreational riders.
Maybe you are a triathlete and wish to improve your road racing skills. Maybe you don't ride any more. Don't let that stop you from being involved in the sport. If you have a sporting background or just have a keen interest in cycling, you can benefit from the camaraderie of being a club member through assisting in an administrative, organizational or marshalling role.
Membership costs include insurance, SACF and ACF components.
AusCycling offers memberships for all levels and abilities of riders, from kids just starting out to the pro’s on the world stage, we’re here for all riders! No matter, what stage of riding you’re at, we are here to help you get on the bike and keep you covered while riding!
The Central Districts Cycling Club was founded in the late 50s.
A junior tour catering for under 16 riders was started in 1967 during a period of high popularity. Races usually were run in the northern districts and Barossa Valley.
Very strong track focus saw development of our own track at Ramsay Park, with a coal ash over tar surface. It was a very fast track with good banking, but was a little bumpy in parts making for an exciting ride.
Unfortunately a downturn in membership in the 80s saw the track handed over to the Elizabeth City Soccer Club. Remnants are still there on Womma Rd.
More recently a Junior Tour has been open to Under 13 - Under 17 riders and has proved very popular with cyclists across Australia. Due to the popularity of the Junior Tour, Centrals has decided to expand its race event calendar and offer another event catering for riders from under 19 onwards. Thus the inaugural Senior Tour was held in 2011.
We invite you to contact the Secretary and start cycling with CENTRALS.
